Ic1274

I have imaged this area a few times over the years. Most times I focused on NGC6559 which is the small dark nebula which looks a bit like the horse head. However on this occasion I decided to have IC1274 as the main part of the image. It has those lovely tendrils of blue reflection nebula wafting over the hydrogen gas. I also initially contemplated cropping out NGC6559 but decided the whole image looked better with it included.

The image contains 30 hours of integrated data. About 10 hours was Ha, about 6 hours of OIII and about 7 hours of luminance. The balance in RGB.

There is a definite pop and contrast that you get from such long integrations, absolutely love the whisky region in the centre of the image

Nice mate! Similar colours to mine so we both must be doing something right. The closer view is very cool as well.

Beautiful. The balance between the narrowband and LRGB is excellent. Crisp detail, and good colour.

Beautiful image Paul. Love it.
Might well be my monitor(its not calibrated) but part of the lower left seems a little clipped on black.

Well done Paul, thought you've finally tamed the AG12 but I see this was taken with your GSO. It's a lovely image!

This is the beauty of having two setups on separate mounts at the same site. I have continued to image on the RC whilst trying to sort issues with the AG12. It has I am sure saved my sanity. Though this rig also needs some further fine tuning yet.
