JUNE Photo Challenge - Comments & Notable Rejects

This thread is for any comments that you would like to make on the entries in the JUNE Photo Challenge submissions.

Additionally, if you have any other shots that you have taken on the subject that didn't quite "make the cut", but you still want to share with the IIS community, then, please, post them here too.

This month's Theme is a "Pier or Jetty"

So time to brave the cold, get out and have some fun with the challenge.
Happy Snapping.

Splendid pictures. If those are the rejects, I can't help but wonder what the one that you select as an entry might be like!

No local jetties in our area of the Hills, so I had a look through some I took on a trip down to Fremantle, just in case there was an accidentally stunning jetty shot. Nothing obvious, alas, but it was a fascinating trip. Ports are always intriguing and there was a good Maritime Museum there with a variety of boats (including Australia 2) and artefacts. Plus the wonderful HMAS Ovens - an Oberon class submarine that you can take a tour around (can post pics if there's any interest).

So after seeing Derek's shots I'm going to succumb to "Pier Pressure" (groan....) and post some of Freo.

They've left some of the old cranes and general facilities untouched, which I really liked.
