Recomendations for beginning prime focus astrophotography

Hi
I have been doing some wide field imaging by piggybacking my Canon 250D DSLR to my 8” Newtonian on an EQ5 goto mount and have been getting some ok results.
I want like to start doing prime focus photography through the scope and would like some recommendations on adaptors and focusers.
The focuser is currently the standard Crayford style that came with the Skywatcher Black Diamond 8” Newt.
I have read that some people have had problems on getting enough inward travel to achieve focus. Do I need to get a low profile focuser? I am already thinking about getting one with fine focus control (not motor control yet). Funds are limited so I am seeing what I can do with basic equipment for now.
I have a 2x Teleview Barlow, does this help or hinder with trying to get focus?
Any recommendations on adapters and focusers would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

hi
i have the 200mm f/5 sw in blue.
i did not reach infocus on mine, so i changed it to a cheapish low-profil 2 speed crayford from orion, but i have seen that skywatcher also sell them under their brand now.
like this one http://www.opticalvision.co.uk/astro...nian_reflector
its much smoother, and easyer to hit focus with.
here are the adaptors you need
