"I've seen that movie... It hits Paris.." Quote - Jack O'Neill

I suppose the near earth pass is something to put on the Astro-Calendar...

Im pretty sure between now and then they could rustle up an oil rig drilling crew, load them onto a pair of super shuttles and split this rock in two with a thermonuclear weapon well before the fail safe point, and get most of the crew home safely... Probably all bar one person who would have to stay behind to detonate the warhead because as murphy's law would have it, the remote detonation controller would be damaged somehow during the mission.. hahah...

You have been watching too many movies, nothing ever happens like that in real life.

It least it would take focus off the climate change debate, "doesn't matter what you do, the earths climate WILL change in April 2036"

it was regular old naquadah, but other than that, you are very right, it was Anubis..

That said, maybe Anubis captured Apophis, strapped him to a big hunk of space rock and tossed him at the earth... Horrible way to die I would think

Can you just imagine anubis sitting on his office desk trying to think of a not so evil scheme to destroy the earth or/and apophis? "You lost it sir you lost it" said his first prime...

Isn't the world meant to end in 2012 anyway?

If that is right, this new asteroid won't bother us anyway because we'll be all dead.

In any case, we're all screwed... If the world doesn't end, an asteroid is going to wipe us out, if that misses us, and we all know the goa'uld are not the best at wiping out us earthlings, then I'm sure some other doom shall befall us... Continuous rising surface temperatures, more holes in the ozone layer, nuclear war???

There is no way out.. We're all going to die here on earth...

Considering they have never directly attacked earth (not in this dimension anyway) I don't think they are too much of a thread Baz.. Not in our galaxy in any case... Wowie this is getting really 'sci-fi nerdy' in here isnt it.. Showing my true colours..

Ps - Im most concerned about the Wraith.... Those fellas would scare the living poopers out of me...

If it misses us in 26 years it will hit us 7 years later, the chances of a mixed government committee to do something in time is very remote, when was the last time you herd government committee agreeing on any thing
