iOptron extension pier and EQ wedge

This is the extension pier and wedge Graham Beazley from New Zealand made for my iOptron Pro mount.
Machine work second to none.

Looks very good , top job .

Just one question , how is the balance on the tripod ? it might be the photos but it looks to have a fair bit hanging on one side ? . Thanks .

Balance is easier to do and the mount lines up with one of the tripod legs and absolutely no problem.

Hi Brian.
As far as balance is concerned ... I spent a lot of time with a prototype I made from wood to check all of this .. no problem.. it's all in the positioning on the tripod and size / overhangs etc. After several months of trials and mods I then remade from solid alloy , made up bearings for the AZ fine adjust etc etc.
I made my first one which I still have, and use, some 5 years back and I can assure you it has never toppled over.
Cheers
Graham.
