Thank you Sil I think there is more fiddling to do than I have already done.
But I am utterly surprised what the camera does for the little 80mm.
I was happy with it but it lacked a certain sharpness but now I dont think I will worry about getting a 4 inch.

Well I decided to come in from the cold.
Its a shame to give up on such a wonderful night but after a while you get tired.
Down to 3degrees.
The mount healed itself somehow☺ it was tracking rather well, although the graph was all over the place was however within 3' most of the time and I tried a couple of five minute runs and it seemed spot on.
I am gathering data on the Lagoon but it will be a long time before I can process it all.
I think I will start a thread re the meaning of trend lines etc but the screen shot is on the lappy (I am posting this via phone) but I will do it maybe tomorrow.
Good night.
Alex

Just having a look at this on my screen at home. Lots of whispy detail there Alex. Way better than the DSLR. A few colour issues to sort out otherwise lots of potential. Keep at it.

Would you happen to have the raw data that you could upload? I would love to process it!

I hope to connect broad band soon so then I will send you all I have.
But at the moment I am in the bush with a phone and 8 gig left for eight days and I need my cage fights and moto cross via utube to fill in the gaps when I stop...which does not seem often.
I have lost control of the mount.
I was moving it while turned off which may have upset it but when in home position tells me its at -33 degrees and so I am back to finding objects manually.
I have tried resync stuff but so far no happy result and so I have not got plate solve working.
But its tracking.
The PHD lines drift off but the stars mostly seem round...anyways can only get tonight and tomorrow in as going to see Pink in Brisbane which will be the week end over and return next week.
Stuff is working stuff is not working.
The inverter died so its been a genny @ $8 a night☺ and so tired I cant think straight to solve even simple issues.
It is amazing what lack of sleep does to you.
Its a great game.

Now there is a bush fire to the North West the smoke has just started coming across it must be close cause I can hear the fire trucks reversing ...can see a glow.
Hope they get it sorted as I think it could come this way.

Great pics Alex. Congrats on your new camera. Stay safe if there's a bush fire close by. Equipment can be replaced, the talent using it can't be !

Thank you for your kind words Ryan.
The glow has gone thank goodness.
First night I have wished for dew☺

I am doing the Prawn Nebula hopefully to get to Logan as I think he likes this one.
The mount is going ok but only doing 2 minutes but on the narrow band gain at 500 ...have not done any numbers it just feels right☺

I have put a little dot of blue tack on the screen of the lappy so I have a reference to re center given there is a small drift to the North...may be a balance issue as pole master tells me polar is perfect but as its working I am not going to play with balance and see the movement as built in dither☺

I started with star tools today by processing each group separately and then combining them by layering in photo shop.
I don't know any more really as I have been looking at the screen all day
however I am pretty sure this is blue cause I used a phone app to tell me so and there is some green apparently
I think startools helped with noise but to be honest I just tried to follow the steps without altering the setting too much.
