Glue for doublets

Some time ago I dropped my binoculars on the concrete floor.. resulting in de-lamination of both objectives.
It didn't bother me much because binos were still performing OK.. and I didn't have Canada Balsam at hand to fix the problem..

But yesterday, prompted by one of my friend's post on other forum, I decided to try to glue them with something else.
That guy used Pattex glue (pictured below, I couldn't find exact match on ebay) to fix air-spaced 80/900mm objective obtained from Surplusshed. He tried first with oil and then applied the glue, and according to him, the glued lens performed much better than not glued original..

Then I remembered I read somewhere (CN?) someone had success with UV curable glue.. and since I had some of that in my stash, I decided to try with one lens..

I cured the glue under the sunlight for 1/2 hour (to ensure illumination uniformity), and yes, the lens is now successfully repaired.

Of course, this glue may not be good enough for larger optical systems (my friend mentioned in his post he had negative experience earlier, according to him the UV glue cured hard and warped the glass), but I didn't notice any problems with 50 mm binos lens, so probably the glue method is OK for cases like this.
