I'll be there, depending on how my next semester uni timetable turns out and what class I can skip I'll try to be there for the whole week.

I think if I go this year for the full duration I will be taking my own food. Camp Duckadang managers are pricing the food to high.

I figured that by now David, with all the exotic equipment you manage to pack into a vehicle and trailer, you would require a whole paddock to yourself!

Cheers

I am still trying to find out what Upper and Lower Caravan means. Is there a site diagram, i am unable to find one on the Astrofest or Duckadang websites. From conversations I think Upper Caravan is the one i want, close to the imaging field, is this correct?

Glen

This might help - it is from the registration book a couple of years ago but I suspect the setup will be similar. You want the very last page which has the map on it. Page 10 also has some info.

Hi Glen

It has been some 10-12 years since I last attended, but for what its worth, this was the set up back in 2006.

The red rectangle is where caravans were parked on the upper paddock, adjacent the main entrance.

The red oval is where caravans were parked on the lower paddock, adjacent the tennis courts. A steep embankment separates the two paddocks=walk up and down a lot for facilities, etc.

Cheers

Same place as previous years. Where all the gear fits. I found a satellite view of your gazebo from a couple of years back. Apparently you can see it from space.

You're going to wish you booked the whole duration. It's a long way to get there.

I just drove back from Brisbane last week, I know all about the drive.

Nine nights is a long time at my age, and I have family to visit in Brisbane.

Glen,
The caravan spaces are gradually getting more and more curtailed as Lions put in new equipment for the kids - the latest thing which may be there by August is a Gaga Pit, location on the site unknown. The upper caravan space is next to the Visual observing area, but nowhere is far from anywhere else. It will have to be first come first pick of available spaces. When it runs out, people will have to go to the lower area. I'm attaching the most recent plan of the place from last year.
