New Imaging scopes announced

Astrotech have announced 3 new imaging newts:

f/4 6" $299
f/4 10" $599
f/4 12" $749

10" and 12" have a 3" focuser similar to the 10" RC.

I wonder if we will ever see them released locally in some shape or form?

Apparently their 8" sold like hot cakes and was/is well regarded.

There didn't appear to be re-badged version of the 8" released in Australia AT.

Buying/shipping from US of A would be ridiculous...I wonder if they are available direct from Astrotech?

I just picked up an Orion 8 inch f 4.4 with a Vixen clone mount (no drives) and a whopping big focussing unit for $250 at CASH CONVERTORS!!

After carefully cleaning a lot(a lot!!!) of dust of the optics, I have perfect condition primary and secondary mirrors..........not a mark on them.

The scope is one from quite a few years back, but shows very solid construction, pyrex glass etc.

I never knew what ''fast optics '' meant until I stuck my eye up to this thing in daylight .

Well I can tell you I have had the 8" version since they came out, and value for money you simply cannot beat it. There is a bit of DIY required to make them better than they are when they ship, but even straight out of the box they fly.
Shipping could well be an issue, the 8" ships in a huge carton, and is no lightweight.
