In the past I've used http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/

Don't know if they're still as competitive, haven't checked, but they were good back then.

If it's under $1000 you could buy from an online seller, I've used HKBNS and Citiwide (both ebay Sellers) and found them both to be very good. I also use DigiDirect who are an Australian online seller, they sell genuine Canon Australia product at prices very close to OS online sellers. Digi-Direct also have a Sydney Shop front and also happen to answer the phone when you call, unlike a good many online sellers.

I like DDP and Camera Direct pretty close with their prices, also recently used DWI no problems fast delivery but be aware there is the risk of custom interception read the FAQ.

+1 for DDP.

Just make sure you order a couple of days beforehand if you wish to pick stuff up. I stupidly once drove three hours to buy something, only to be asked if I had placed an order. D'oh!

Something no-one has mentioned is Warranty, all canon Lenses have international warranty and unlike the bodies, AFAIK Canon Australia will service the warranty for lenses bought from O/S.

Bought my last 2 L lenses from HK ebay online stores - no customs problems as they both undervalued the lenses on the declaration forms!!
Luckily all worked out well for me, but I worried about customs taxes, warranty issues, quality of product etc all the way from purchase to delivery and testing. My fingers were cramped from crossing them for 2 weeks each time!!
Not a process I can heartily recommend - and I've still got the worry of O/S warranty follow up if something goes pear shaped later- touch wood!!!
Buy from home - the hassle and worry isn't worth the saving I reckon!
Although, to play devil's advocate too - I've got 2 beaut lenses which cost me probably $400 less than if I had bought locally.
You pays yer money etc...
Doug

Also Digital Camera Warehouse. DigiDirect looks a few percent cheaper but I've certainly found DCW to be very good.
