cooling camera

Silly question.
has anyone ever put their DSLR in the fridge to cool it down before shooting on a hot summer night? I am getting heaps of noise

Not a good idea Carl it will form condensation inside the camera and will take ages to clear, and worse still the moisture will cause damage inside the camera,

Also that would only be a short time fix.

I knew it was always going to be a problem - so I fixed mine by getting my camera modified. Sure looks expensive and it is, but you will never regret the move

is there anybody in aus that does the filter mod?
id love to cool my 400D but i think thats a bit out of my budget

although it really still is pretty cheap when you consider the pricing of other cooled astro cameras

Isn't Bert doing something like this. Putting his camera into a peltier fridge when using it at capture time. Be interesting to see how he gets on with condensation, if any.
