Thought I would test my latest attempt at Lagoon Nebula. I have made some significant changes.
1) Reduced ISO based on a website that has an ISO SNR recommendation. Dropped from 800 to 400.
2) Longer subs, from 60 seconds for a full moon night to 240sec.
3) Due to the longer subs I am testing the El Cheapo SVBony 2" CLS Filter.
The result is very different to normal imaging. My star colouring is not as diverse but is still nice, fewer yellows stars and richer reds.
I have only carried out a super quick repo, but good 1st approximation.
Overall price versus performance of the CLS Filter is good, but with nothing to compare against, it won't be easy to get a good report.
Processing is very different in only a few ways, but most of all, the CLS is still not suitable completely for Moonglow. The Red and Green Channels had blown out. At least it can be removed to a degree. Now hoping for clear skies on the 16th October thereabouts for more trials and possibly longer exposures.

It is my TS APO 80mm. I bought it in 2011 and the price was good when the dollar was high. It is a triplet and I purchased a field flattened as well.
Is that the triplet?
