Cheeky Saturn

It's not often that I get good seeing on the coast, even less likely to get no wind. So I thought I'd grab a shot of Saturn to complete my collection while I waited for Mars to get a little higher. Fingers crossed I get lucky when I process Mars.

Saturn slayer!
Great shot. Love the shadowing of the planet over the rings. Clear and crisp.

Very crisp Saturn. What were the details of the capture file?

This was roughly 5000 of the best 300000 frames I took that night at a gain of 300 and 0.02s exposure.

I tweaked the contrast and noise reduction a little and I think this is a slightly more pleasing version.

Hi David.

Your image is remarkably good.
You will be hard pressed to better it!

I was wondering how you select the best images to use?

Autostakkert automatically evaluates each frame and allows you to only stack the ones above a certain threshold, such as the top 15% or the best 5000 frames.
