Evolution

Those old bikes are lovely. One of my friends still has a BMW R65 which he bought new around 40 years ago, it's still going strong as still looks as good as the day he got it.

I also thought I would post a picture of a modern Rocket 3, not BSA but Triumph. 2300 CC motor, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h

340 clicks seems plausible thanks to the reduced drag from the missing rider who blew off somewhere around the 280 mark...

The performance figures in the OP are somewhat exaggerated, MCN reviewed the 2020 model and suggested that the top speed was 220 kph. I have a BMW 1150 twin that makes 3.7 secs on the dyno and I do not believe that one could ever ride it like that. That said the Rocket 3 is an amazing motorcycle and does not feel heavy under you.

I used to have a R100 - and then discovered the 1150 GS. My last one was the 1200GS - what a bike! Perfect just about anywhere.

David,
I had an R100R Classic, hit by a car and sadly gone but my R1150R is a good replacement, I enjoy big days and have set it up accordingly.
