M42 Preview Extract

Extract of 1.7k X 1.2k pixels taken from a mosaic of about 18k X 14k pixels (done last new Moon).
It was quite blurry, so Deconvolution (sharpen) and HDRMultiscaleTransform (compression of the dynamic range) in PI.

Both of these process's have the ability to either fix the image, or totally ruin it.

Into PS for 'SmartSharpen' and 'Artistic License'.

About 4.5hrs integration time using short 60s subs at unity gain.
Even with such short exposures, a few areas still blew out.

Looks like a lot of fun and very colourful if slightly enhanced. Artistic license ? Have not seen that one.

Apart from the small frivolity of smiley faces I quite like the different perspective of that section of M42 and the associated dark dust.
