Not really sure if this is a deep space image,
Anyway, this is a stack of about 50, 30 sec exposures at 50mm. tracked on a small Ioptron mount. Heavily reduced in size to fit size requirements.
Looks really nice, but a bit too red. Somewhat overexposed Halpha maybe.
IMHO modification of a modern SLR like an A7 is not needed anymore. I have a Canon 6d non nodded, but can make nice Halpha images.
Read www.clarkvision.com who has excellent image processing methods.
Another great shot Josh. Perhaps the ha are a bit bright but I like the accentuation that is often a bit lacking in non modded shots.
Whilst modern DSLRs etc have improved Ha response I do think the modded camera give a lovely lift in nightscapes and other shots that non modded camera don't pick up. Perhaps not a massive difference but that shots I like the best were all done with modded cameras. That bit extra emphasis of the ha areas looks great.
I’d argue that the colour is correct and not too red.
I’ve images this region with larger mosaics for higher resolution and better colour fidelity, both of which got the same colour. Yours is more saturated excenuating that colour but I do believe it’s correct.
I’ve images it with two different DSLRs and telescope/lens setups, both unmodded so it isn’t the mod causing it.
Thankyou for all the feedback lads... Yes, I do like colour intensity in my images, personal taste... but I might have overdone this in some spots maybe some selective adjustments are in order, I might have a redo.

I agree with all of the preceding comments. This is a spectacular field and image. However, the color temperature is too warm and the saturation is too high. Please post a new version that is colder and less saturated and see what everything thinks. It might be a better image, it might not. We shall see. Best wishes, Murray

Hi Murray,
Thankyou for your constructive feedback. I agree with the coments about saturation, colour temperature I'm not sure about. I do like warm tones especially when i do widefield... is there a standard to compare against? I typicaly use daylight white balance in ACR to get star colour to where i think it should be based on tutorials by clarkvision http://www.clarkvision.com/articles/...ge.processing/
What is the reason behind why if should be cooler or is it just personal taste?
But i will take your comments and others on board and repost another version
