Peter, in your bottom image of "bland sun"
Are those prominances at the bottom of the image or
artifacts?
Cheers

Hi Ron,

I just ran the avi for that image and it seems that there is uneveness along the limb there. So they appear real to me, likely tiny prominences I think?

Thanks
Peter

Peter,
Well done mate, some good images there!
The "dot" feature may be a disconnected piece of prom...I looked at all the similar images on Solar Chat, but nothing showed up.
Ron,
The unevenness of the edge you see, I think is the spiculation layer, more obvious in the bandwidth of the single stack.

Ken I was meaning the what look like 3 faint prominances detached at the bottom, not the uneven Limb.

Ron,
I’m looking at the surface image....
The speculation layer and a few “lumps
This I think should be compared with the what I think is the matching prom image.
