A Very Tiny Planetary

This image is of NGC5979 in Triangulum Australe. It is very very tiny. In my 12" RC (2440mm FL) it barely is discernible at all, with barely any structure to be seen. There are not many amateur images of it and I can see why. Still fun to have something to process on our cold cloudy SA days though.

That really is tiny! If I attempted it it would be 12 fuzzy pixel across
Well captured and showing a fair bit of structure given its size.

Have never seen this object before - it looks like you are having fun chasing unfamiliar targets Paul

A tiny object indeed but you’ve still captured the ring like structure and the central star is visible. A clear delineation between the different colour channels. The colour in the stars has come out nicely as well. A tiny object with a good story
