Thanks Tim, but I’d need to machine an adaptor to go to the 86mm OTA.

Guan Shen Optical
As a newbie, if my following recommendation is outside forum protocols I apologise and will stand corrected.
I don't know what your budget is but I have used the GSO Crayford style 10:1
micro-focuser on my 150/1200 Skywatcher and I am about to get the same for the 102/500. I found the quality to be exceptional for the price. Not an endorsement but I have purchased mine through Andrews Communications.
I believe they have one that will fit the ST80:
Refractor type 86mm size (suits 86mm i.d. of refractor tube) Crayford style 2" 10:1 microfocuser. M-CRF series.
Has 78mm main body length and 72mm of drawtube travel for $160.00 + postage
Hopefully this will give you a starting point from something I have actually tried.
Regards Craig

Craig,
Thanks.
I already have the similar focuser on my spectrograph( based on another ST80)
very good and solid, but like usual I’m trying to save where I can and $170 is more than I can pay.
A second hand unit at a good price would be great.

I know what you mean, maybe having a description of something that should work may jog someones memory to go " Oh yeah, I've got one of those in the back of the cupboard in the shed!'"
We live in hope! Good luck with the chase.

I'm still in the market for this focuser...
If you've upgraded, maybe consider selling the old one....

I think I have an old DDG which I can throw your way if you are interested.
I'll check tonight to see if it has the right thread.
...might need some work on it though because it wobbles like nobody's business.

Hmmmm
With all those Moonlite and Feathertouch "upgrades" you'd think there would be a few refractor 10:1 focusers available....
Still looking....either an 86mm or 96mm fitment.
