Power Supply for Nikon D5300

I am looking for a battery replacement power supply for my Nikon D5300. I have found this remote battery pack which uses a dummy battery:

https://www.vanbar.com.au/catalogue/....php?id=109054

But the question is how long is it good for?

Other battery eliminators?

If life is fair / linear (it often isn't) , 28 [Wh] /8.9 [Wh] = 3.14 x Existing (wow ..."PI" times your existing EN-EL14A battery)

Best

Glen, look for a DC coupler (weird name, I know) like this...

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EN-EL14-A...-/302064843830

I've used similar in my Canons pretty much from the start, as the battery never lasts very long doing long exposures. A tiny voltage regulator from Jaycar drops the voltage from 12v to 8v for dark site use (Canons use ~8v, but check the battery for your Nikon)

The OEM usually do a version at elevated cost btw, so it's up to you which to go for.

I thought USB power packs were cheap. Perhaps its a voltage thing.
Some cameras have a port that takes these USB power packs which is a mini USB. Getting one at the right voltage would be the thing.

Greg.
