starlight-feathertouch

Hi All
Does anybody know of something else other then the boss controller for a starlight-feathertouch focuser msm35 motor? I want to control the focuser via computer.

You can use a Robofocus.

Wait, you can plug the Feathertouch focuser into a RoboFocus controller? Cool!

I hope so.... I've got a FT 3.5" coming for my FSQ, I intend to re-use the robofocus motor/controller. I know there's a different adapter for attaching it to the focuser body, but not sure if the same focuser shaft clamp "thing" on the motor will fit. Should be safe as I think both use a 1/4" shaft?

Can we clarify what people are meaning here??

Can you use a robofocus controller to drive a feather touch motor, or are you meaning you can bolt a robofocus motor onto a feather touch focuser?

My reading of the original question is can you drive a feather touch motor with another controller???

There is the Microtouch controller, which can be connected to a computer.

This thread gives some info, but I'm still not sure if you can drive a feather touch motor with a moonlight focuser controller (which I believe is the same pinout as a Robofocuser - can anyone confirm this??).

There is a comment about feathertouch using "micro stepping" that moonlight doesn't.

Is the Focus Boss II required to automate a Feathertouch focuser?

Sorry, I meant you can use the Robofocus system not just the controller. I am not sure if the controller by itself would control another brands focuser.

Greg.

Before I got the Atlas I used the Feather Touch motor with a MHP and focusmax 3 to focus. I don't think you can use the control box with the motors for the Feather Touch.
