Details.
I drove up on Wednesday in the rain and it rained most of the day Thursday so I did not set up until I went outside to see the clearest sky ever..totally washed and clean but so moist the dew was over the top...not that was a problem because the clouds called time out after only 17 minutes.
Canon 450 (about ten years old) riding by itself on a HEQ5 mount plonked on the ground and polar aligned like I was playing pool
cause polemaster was screwed up by a fool of a technician (me
) ... 1600 iso 17 minutes via 30 second captures about 24 fl. No Darks bias or flats. No dithering except for me wandering around.
Focus was thru the view finder cause I could not see anything on the camera screen at all???
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, and proceesed in Gimp under the direction of my daughter who was able to tone down the colour problems.
A small crop of the right side to try and balance a poorly thought out composition.
But I am so happy to have a result and most impressed with the old camera the histogram was very meaty.
So a camera worth maybe $100 to $200 second hand on a $1300 mount driven by a mug.
So all you folk wondering how hard it is I say with luck you can get something that I know you will be proud of...
