New Scope

It’s been a while since I have posted here.

Just picked up my Skywatcher 300p Collapsible Goto scope. I have been a purist for years, using charts and star hopping since I started 40 years ago ( first scope was a small 2 inch refractor), but now growing older and less patient I took the plunge into goto.

It was quite easy to assemble and it’s a beast of a scope. Quite surprising how good the pointing and tracking is on this goto Dob as is its collmination. It’s also surprisingly easy to use and setup. The Hand controller is quite intuitive. Just looking forward to some clear nights so I can give it a good work out.

I bought my Skywatcher 12” Goto 18 months ago and really enjoy the views under Bortle 3 skies
My Televue 21mm ethos with Type 2 coma corrector and UHC filter on Eta Carina is a sight to behold amongst many other objects in the night sk
And yes tracking and Goto is excellent
Hope you get many many years of enjoyment
Cheers
