My little M8

Taken over two nights in the (very rare) cloud free Melbourne on Sat and Sunday.
Final image is a stack of 67x180 sec at 1600ISO with equal darks applied.
Taken with FLT 110 and modded Canon 1100D on EQ6 in light polluted Melbourne 10kms from the CBD.
I tried to show the 3D nature of the nebula and may have overdone it a bit
Comments welcome!
Thanks
Bo

The open cluster looks great. Real stars floating in an imagined oyster shell. The cluster tends to look much less spectacular in narrowband shots. Nice work.

Really nice Bo! Just wait until the ASI1600 is up and running Narrowband really helps our heavily light polluted situation.

Thank you M&T. The stars had noticeable halos when the image was stretched, a few of the larger ones still do. Live and learn..

Yeah, still need a few extra nights to shake down the 1600, but there was only two clear nights, so I had to make the most of it!
