We have a westerly coming through tomorrow this will present a tremendous viewing opportunity for Sydney sky watchers. This week is a wonderful conjunction New Moon and clear skies.

Last night was great. Europa eclipsed by Jupiter and then an Io transit begun while the GRS was almost at the meridian. A 4am start this morning stopped me from staying up later to see Euopa's reappearance and Io's shadow transit. Great when the weather app and the astronomy app align and forecast all of the above and clear skies too. It was quite windy when I was out last night so the observations were made at 97 times in a 12" dob.

A quick look at Saturn and then the pillow summonsed me.

Jake it's not uncommon to see the 4 Galilean moons - they orbit Jupiter so quickly you're certain to see them all at some point each night.
