Next time I'm in the U.S.

Next time I get to California, I'm putting this on the list of things to do, expensive I know but just to get the chance!

bring a thermometer to measure the aperture fever

Referring back to the recent thread with timeshare of a 5million dollar scope,$1700 for a full night with this baby is pretty reasonable, if not a bargain.Big question, is this a cure or cause for aperture fever? A group of say 6 people , $Aus 300 each for views of a lifetime .......priceless. Of course, if a facility of this calibre were available here in Aus, there would be a queue a mile long of Yanks wanting to see the great Southern delights. Maybe organise an IIS excursion including a visit.

Pity there isn't an imminent eclipse in the US, it would make a great side trip. The next over the US is 2017 August 21, and two over Argentina in 2019 and 2020.
