Planets in west

26th Nov. Took this quick picture of Venus and Jupiter in the WSW sky last night at 9.13 pm from Central Victoria. Canon 550d camera on a tripod 10 sec x 800 iso at f5.6. Venus is the brighter planet, Jupiter below it. Constellation to left is Scorpio and above is Sagittarius.

Nicely done John

I dont know if you realise it but you also captured a tiny glimmer of the Lagoon nebula which was just to the right, and slightly above Venus at this time.

If you turn up the exposure / contrast you might be able to see it clearer.

Thanks Kelvin, well spotted. Yes, I did notice it when trying to identify the stars, it was surprising to see it in a 10 sec exposure.
