Really nice pic !!
I see the comet is approaching the pole. On 9 Jan the comet is @ +88º declination the most far south.

Good idea to use ISO 3200. Only thing is I see here that some stars are purplish which I also have when using my 40d + 1.8/85 at full aperture.

Thanks Justin, you must be tired from all these early mornings.
The tail seems to be 24d long, it ends near the mag 4 star SAO 256710.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments.
It's been an ideal subject for learning DSLR imaging and proccessing.
Glen, yes I am a bit tired, but I have a three advantages at the moment.
On holidays, that ends next week.
Clear skies, been really lucky.
Call of nature, always get it this time of the morning makes it easier to get up for an hour or two.

Thanks,
Justin.

Liz, does your 450D have Hi and Lo settings???. If so, when you set the ISO, you can switch it to Hi1, which will allow you to virtually shoot at 3200. Only problem is it might be a bit noisy.

I can do that on my camera.

Hi, Liz.

I don't fiddle too much with photoshop yet, still learning.
My Photoshop is quite old, version 7.
What I do, do is, in menu I go to adjustments, levels and use the slide bar to manually adjust the output. Then I do a slight gausian blur, unsharp mask and colour saturation.
Occasionally adjust the brightness and contrast manually.

That's about it at the moment.

Thanks,
Justin.
