Very interesting, but not alot of information there. For example, where do the big image files download to? Is there a gig of memory in that box to hold files? Is that a stick pc plugged in the side?

It's a "Raspberry Pi with a touchscreen" project.

Nice. Low power consumption. Low cost hardware. The RPi can write to an SD card (slowly) or an external USB HD (a bit faster). Reliability is not passed on - it could be very good or very bad or anywhere in between.

I'd say it looks pretty neat for US$139...to buy a Raspberri Pi and touchscreen locally would cost more than that, and then the software is value added
