Processing DSO in DSS..

Hi, Finally I tried some DSO photography last Sat and I have few questions about processing these photos.

Camera:
600D, 3200 ISO, Raw

Telescope:
150/750m no guide

I cant remember what I took (there is a nice guy help me to point my scope to somewhere interesting). I can see there is some gas cloud color near the stars.

I used DSS to stack (4-6pics), the result is good except the image is totally green after that. Just wonder what should I do about it? I also have photoshop can use ..

The pic below I did some modification in DSS before export to tiff..

I'm thinking that'd be the Orion Nebula. That is indeed pretty green. You'd be better off putting it through DSS again. Just make all the RGB curves line up on top of each other then save it. You can then pull up the fainter stuff a bit in PhotoShop.

Hope this helps,
Cam

If you're ever wondering what your image is, try astrometry.net.

Here's the results of your image.

You're welcome David. Looks quite magenta in that repro. Here's what I do with DSS. I stack my images, then adjust the colours so their histogram peaks line up. I then go to the Luminance panel and adjust the histogram so that the line runs through the middle of my histogram peak (half way up the 'spike') I then make sure the highlights tapers to the top right. That should leave it looking fairly "grey" and showing everything from the background to the brightest stars.
