Saving Profiles and Camera settings in FireCapture

Hi guys, now that I need to start saving my settings from one session to the other, inc. color balance, exposure time and gain, ROI size, etc... I'm a little confused. I realise you can save a profile per planet but is it also saved per filter in FC?

Marc,
When I use FC, it seems to remember the last settings, camera, settings, gain etc.
Would this be enough??

The latest settings yeah but I'm jumping to different planets with different settings. Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and the moon. So it would be handy to save a profile for each then recall it when I need it. But it seems to attach the profile to a filter. So if you change the filter it defaults back to the initial values. So not sure if I have to create a profile for each target x the number of filters used. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

Hi Marc

Go to the Control Panel and <Click> the small triangle inside the <More> Button.

This allows you to Save and Load settings.

I am not sure what combinations of Settings can be saved and re-called.

Cheers

Thanks Dennis. Another place where you can save settings. I'll check it out.

Hi Marc

Sometime ago I was watching one of Torsten's Tutorial video's on YouTube and he also used Windows Explorer to drag-and-drop previously saved settings onto FC so if you name any saved settings in a meaningful manner, you should be able to easily invoke them.

Also, there is a Script feature where you can write basic scripts and I believe these cover Filter, Target, Exp, etc. settings so that might be useful to have a look at.

Needless to say, I haven't done any of the above yet, as I like to sit outside and push buttons and tweak sliders on the fly.

Cheers

Thanks mate. I'll look into that. Last session I did I managed to save a few profiles with the icon you pointed out.

That's good news Marc, hope it solves your problem.

I find that with the long times between my imaging sessions, I often forget how stuff works.

I need to get out more to consign it to muscle memory so I retain all that hard won knowledge of set ups and software functionality.

Cheers

The more I go the more I try to document what I do and take screen shots of settings. If I don't do it for a while I just forget.
