NSW weather

Could someone explain the current NSW weather? I'm a user of iTelescope in Coonabarabran. During the last 30 days or so the observatory roof is often closed at night due to cloud. Is this a usual annual weather pattern this time of year, like a rainy season? If so, how long does it typically last? Thanks!

This might help you understand the weather patterns in NSW.

I'm from south of the border and I remember as a boy the New South Welsh used to accuse us of living in the rainy city. Now I guess the tables have turned.
