Escape Velocity from Earth

I was curious to know at what speed would need to be reached to escape Earths velocity?

I have looked around on the net but I am finding mixed results...

Also, if anyone knows, what speeds do our space shuttles reach?

Not really only only about 25000 mph whereas Jupiter would be nearly 100000mph

Does this mean the space shuttle would need to reach a speed of over 25,000 mph to break out of the atmosphere?

No because spacecraft that go into orbit or beyound undergo acceleration through most of the Earth's atmosphere. Therefore, they do not need to achieve escape velocity.
