Markarians Chain ( part of )

Hi all,
Tried this one the last few nights before the moon is too bright.
I'm amazed i actually got anything but after stacking there are heaps of little galaxys that pop out from nowhere.
Banding from the sensor is there from stretching a bit too much.
I didnt do any cropping as there are little galaxys right on the edge. Can't wait to get the rest of the Markarians chain when the moon is not so bright.

Canon 450d modded
ISO 1600
120x2min unguided
Darks, flats, and bias subtracted.
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools
Reduced to post image in Photoshop.

That is so neat.
Just think of the distances... it is just a small part but heck it is big.
Great shot.

Very nice Andy, I had a crack at this one recently also. A wider FOV but nowhere near the resolution of your image. There's galaxy's galore at the moment if you have suitable weather.
Cheers,
Tony

Thanks Alex and Tony.
Im still amazed that you can capture these types of images with pretty basic equipment
Looking at galaxies a bit more now because after seeing the results of others lately (Casstony, Raymo, Fernando and Startrek to name a few) I might give them a go as well next imaging session.
Cheers
Andy

Nice one Andy, I can't wait to have a go when Virgo is a little higher. It's a lot of fun imaging something for the first time.

Thanks Steve, Tony, Rene and Raymo
Yeah Steve its a pretty interesting part of the sky. Its really gets you thinking about how small we really are when you start seeing all those galaxies together.

Rene, I have spent a fair amount of time getting polar aligned and my scope aligned square with my mount. I did this in early February and now I just leave my mount up and just pack my scope away.
I'm carefull that I don't bump it each time I put my scope on.

Raymo, I used a Skywatcher BD 150mm (750mm f/5)
