IC4592 - Blue Horsehead

It was one heck of a cold night at Wyaralong Dam. All by myself after 10pm until 4am. Got down to at least 5deg (3deg with wind). Not many things went right that night. For one thing, I forgot to bring the USB cable for the guide camera so all these were unguided. I forgot to stop down the lens which caused massive starbloat in the red channel. And to top it off, I forgot my gloves! I couldn't feel my fingers after midnight!

Here's the deets
131 min of Luminance @ 60sec unguided
77 min of RGB @ 60sec unguided
Samyang 135mm F2.0 @ F2.0
ASI1600MM-Pro/MC-Pro
AZ/EQ GTe

Well that turned out surprisingly well despite the issues.

Very nice. You picked up the dust very well.

Greg.

Well, pretty clearly Tony, you don't need to guide at that focal length Lovely blue horsehead, well worth the pain, trials and tribulations very nice, he really appears to be galloping to the left.

Thanks guys, I'll do this one again when I'm at a real dark sky and have a few days to REALLY go deep. Maybe even mosaic to get all 3 reflection nebulas in the frame!
