'Merlin Cams'-where??

Hello.

A while ago someone in the U.K on this forum found a source of web cams that could be used for astrophotography,I think these were found to be very good, there was some images of Jupiter some members took through 4 and 5 inch refractors that were quite good.

I would like to ask if anyone could help me locate these,as I would like to buy one,If anyone has the link to the place that sells them-I would be most pleased.

I think these cams are flashed which sounds very good,My old Phillps 2U cam has lost software.

At the time the thread was running about these 'Merlin Cams' I did not have pay pal-but now do,so would like to try and get on for planet imaging.

Thanks Chris

re Merlin Cam

Thanks Paul

I think I will wait till after Xmas and order one.

(No hurry with all this rain)

I read the thread-sounds like it can take up to month to get here, while some

had it seven days-for what ever reason there does not appear any consistency

in arrival times.

I see the 1.25 adaptor is around 8 pounds and the camera bit 20 pounds

So 28 pounds ($45AUD) all up to get it here-is that correct?

Is it difficult to remove camera lens and put nose on?

Anyone with piccy's of these on their scope?thanks

Chris

A few pounds cheaper than you quoted, you won't have to pay VAT.

with postage probably closer to 55 or 60 I guess. I've not had anything to do with the site but removing the lens and replacing with the adapter is easy. I'd be surprised if it didn't come with instructions.

re cam

Thanks Ron and Paul

I saw Tony (firstlight) got a craker image of Jupiter with his 110 WO

I think he had a 4 times barlow and a 2 time barlow all connected to the

cam and the to scope.

Cheers Chris

Chris, no instructions come with the webcams, but several URLs in the thread point to instructions on removing the lens etc. with piccies.
