Trapezium Short exposures ZWo178MC

After seeing some amazing short exposure stacked photos at Astrobin I wanted to try my luck with my ZWOASI178MC and took a series of 500x2sec BMP frames at 80% gain with Meade 12inACF unguided last night at about 11.30pm.

420 came through grading and I selected 385 frames stacked and processed in ImagesPlus.

No calibration frames were used. Camera temperature was 24.5degrees.

Quite pleased with the result. Loads easier without the calibration frames but a long time processing (2-3hrs ). Nice detail and minimal noise. Any comments welcomed.

Nice detail in the nebula Glenn, but the stars seem too sharp-edged.

Looking good Glenn!
Something I’ve wanted to do for a few years but still haven’t gotten around to yet.

Wonderful image but I agree the stars are a little oversharpened, some selective blurring will make it aesthetically more pleasing
