Saturn 2/6/15

2/6/15 was a cold night in BNE and i had quite a large dew issue and passing high cloud that completely ruined an entire IR G B sequence - the seeing proved to be quite decent though.

I took my time processing and tweaking things here and there. I am the happiest I have been with a resulting image so far .

I have posted IR and colour images. The two storms prominent in Christopher Go's images are quite clearly present in the IR image (just to the left of the pole).

Stoked with how my 9.25 inches is performing at the moment and what i can do with it.

These were the result of in total about 8800 frames per channel.

EDIT: Finally managed to figure out how to properly add a luminance channel. Extremely please with the result! Attached is the IR-IRGB blend.

Thanks Dunk . I think i am having a tendency to not bump the exposure enough in post-processing, after comparing to everyone else's images in this section of the forum.

Might bump the histogram a bit more.

I dunno mate, I like the natural look but I guess it's a question of personal taste.

I suppose so Dunk. I finally figured out the luminance channel process, attached and edited first post.
