June Comparison Proposals

Heart of the Scorpion - 'Le Coeur de Scorpion'.

Any image that has Antares in the frame.

Antares is a red supergiant some 1,000 million km across and 9000 times more luminous that our Sun.

And also is well placed in the sky at the mome...

So democracy says we take a vote, or we can move to a dictatorship

Ill throw my vote in the hat for Antares as well.

I would also like to vote for some clear skies, I haven't had a chance to get out in 2 months.

I have been doing a number of captures with Antares as the central feature.
I expected so much but got very little so this is an excellent object..it seems easy but is it really. ... I think this will be a field day for those who have a dslr and a 100 to 200 mm fl lens.
So if you have a dslr a tripod and a 100 lens you will no doubt produce the best images so if you have never had a go now is the time...

Dictatorship - I'll have a shot at it with a camera while I'm in Russia throughout June.

Antares sounds good. I was worried my 550mm might be too short when I bought it though even shorter would be good for a target like this. This is a great example of how good wide field can be. Maybe I'll try a mosaic...
