Question Automatic time/date update for Canon Cameras?

I am wondering if there is a way to update the clock in Canon cameras when they are connected to a computer to sync to the computers clock. This would be a very hand thing to be able to do when it comes for timing of astronomical events. Relying on the manual way (or even remembering to do it) is a very clumsy way of doing it and not very accurate.

Thanks

BTW software I'm using that can control the 20D is DSLR Focus, Images Plus 3.0, plus the standard Canon software.

Looking through the Canon EDSDK, the property kEdsPropID_DateTime, which is the way to access the clock in the camera, is read only. This SDK is what was used to code DSLR Focus and IP Camera Control.

Eric

Yeah, it really is strange that they don't support setting those fields remotely. I'm willing to bet that it is a software rather than hardware design constraint.

yes, shame there hasn't been a hack done for it. The 300D russian hack was great for my 300D.
