Dear all, despite my little time do dedicate to the hobby and participate to this forum, I have managed to complete and upload to my home page another image from the big backlog of images I have to process..
The Grus quartet is composed by four interacting galaxies: NGC 7552 ( at the top left, a lovely face-on barred spiral), NGC 7590 (in the middle), NGC 7599 and NGC 7582 (the pair at center right). The latter three galaxies occupy an area of sky only 10 arcminutes across and are sometimes referred to as the "Grus Triplet.
Lots of small galaxies fill this serene scene and also I was able to image some faint IFN in the bottom part of the image.
LRGB image (350:120:120:120 minutes) using my usual 140mm refractor.
Hmmm? sooo, sorry but who are you again Marco who?
This region is full of background galaxies and you have caught quite a few there and yes, I love that swath of galactic Cirrus lower left too, looks very cool

Thanks Mike, a lovely field indeed! The best image I found of the area was actually yours, before I released this one of course

Thanks Peter! Dark skies helps a lot on this kind of images, actually they make almost all the difference, the "operator skills" contribute very little

Thanks Allan, I love too getting lost in these dense galaxy fields, I cannot stop wandering where ET could actually be hiding in any of those tiny splotches..

Clear skies
Marco
Oh yeaaaah?? I dunnoooo? ...I had so much control over my image...I was actually able to command the galaxies to move millions of light years and huddle together to make it easier to image'em all

Mike, you are the Master of the Universe!

Thanks Kevin, I still have to try to map them, I believe there are several dozens scattered around..

Remarkable how you manage to process all the faint background, just adds so much to the final image.

Thanks Justin, in fact dark skies and long exposures make this MUCH easier, I don't have to fight with strong gradients that would make this impossible
