*Price Drop* Nikon D5100 Hypercam Modded DSLR

Hi There,

I have for sale a Nikon D5100 Hypercam Baader Modded DSLR. This is a professionally astro modded DSLR done by Brent Oliver of Hypercams in the USA and comes with the original paperwork. It is around 12 months old but has had limited use. So far as DSLRs go, it has excellent noise characteristics and is one of the best DSLRs for Astrophotography on the market. First example photo is a single uncalibrated 10 minute sub of NGC253 which has been stretched in PS and touched up in startools to add saturation and remove vignetting. Second photo is a widefield of M8 and M20 in H-alpha which is 10x10 minute subs. No darks were used but flats taken. As can be seen, the camera does give very nice and relatively clean DSLR OSC results.
To take longer subs, a shoestring DSUSB shutter controller is required and is supplied as part of the sale. There is also a Nikon standard T-ring and low profile T-ring also included. Finally it comes with the USB cable and a Power adapter for continuous AC power so no need to worry about battery heat and consumption.

Retail price would be Approx $825 shipped from the USA. The DSUSB and Nikon cable would be approx $90, the two T-rings would be about $40 and the power adapter around $30. Total value $985

Asking price is $600 for the camera with just the T-rings.

If you would like the whole package with the DSUSB and AC Power Adapter the total would be $660.

Please PM if interested

Thanks for looking,
Lucas

The telescope used for the NGC253 single sub was a Skywatcher 10" F4 Carbon Fibre and the M8/M20 shot was taken through a TS 80mm F6 Triplet Apo. It shows that this camera's pixel size is very versatile and can be used at different focal lengths with success, in this case 1000mm and 480mm respectively.
