Real time aurora

I'll soon be off to Iceland again for a spot of aurora hunting, weather permitting, and I'm looking for a camera to record them in real time. My nephew has a Sony A7Sii that he is willing to lend me or should I stick with the Canon 6D and do time lapse? Has anyone done live or time-lapse stars with a Sony A7Sii?

BTW has anyone used a Sony A&Sii through a scope despite the star eater issues?

Cheerio and thanks
Geoff
