M17 half way there

Hi All,

I’ve had 3 sessions at this so far trying to get it finished before the moon was too full. Alas the first session I discarded due to bad framing and the 3rd session I was overcome half way through by dew. Now the sky is full of clouds and when it’s not it’s full of moon so I’ll have to wait a while to finish it. Here is my progress so far. The processing isn’t perfect, I’ll spend more energy on it when I get all the data I want.

Canon 350d astromodified STC Duo Filter
Celestron C9.25 reduced 0.63
HEQ5 pro guided by Nexguide SAG

Thanks for looking

It looks like you have some good data there BUT it also looks like you’ve been processing an 8-bit file. Not saved a JPEG but processing an 8-bit Gold.

Thanks for your input Colin. I know what you mean. There’s something in my processing workflow that does that and it’s not me converting to 8bit. I’m going to have to find what it is and stop doing it. Admittedly i didn’t think it look this bad on the computer.
