Field of view with a Canon D60 on a C11 at f6.3

Hi everyone,

I am seriously considering buying the new Canon D60a when it lands here. I am on the understanding that aside from the D60a's added red enhancement capabilities the remaining species for the D60 and the D60a are
identical.
On the assumption this is correct, can anyone tell me if I will be able to fit the whole Moon onto the D60a sensor when using a C11 set at f6.3?
What I'm really wanting to know is what would be my overall field of view with this set up?

Thanks to all who are able to help me in this question.

Check out Ron Wodaski's CCD Calc

The chip is 22.3 x 14.9mm and has 4.3u pixels. A C11+0.63 F/R+60Da gives 0.5 arcsec/pixel and a FOV 43.1 x 28.9 arcmin.

I'd guess that most of the time the Moon won't quite fit. It might at apogee. It looks like a 0.6 F/R might work. Otherwise, you could take two frames with the 0.63 and make a mosaic.

It would fit with a C9.25 and a 0.63 F/R. A C14 would need a 0.33 F/R.

Hi again,

I also have an F3.3 focal reducer but I thought this kind of reduction may create unnecessary field distortions with this size chip.

What do you think?
