Correct color gradients in the background

In this tutorial I describe the steps I follow to correct the color gradients in the background of an image. The stars and other deep sky objects are not affected only the background. Photoshop CS5 is used to perform the operations.
I hope you find this informative and any comments for improvement let me know.

hi Konstantinos,

do you start with an image unstretched or partially stretched? are you able to stretch more of the nebula after doing the subtraction?

Cheers

Hi Konstantinos,
Have you used Fitswork4 or Pixinsight?

They both have more powerful gradient removal tools -
the former is free.

cheers
