Nikon D5100

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have the new Nikon D5100 with the side swinging articulated screen? From my initial readings it may not look too bad a camera for doing some useful astro imaging. Does anyone have an informed opinion on what it's like to use in this area?

Also can anyone tell me if I will be able to fit the Full Moon in on the D5100 sensor when using a C11 set at f6.3? What would be my overall field of view?

Thanks to all who can help with these questions.

Eris,

See attached: Celestron C11 (297mm aperture at f/10) with 0.63x Celestron focal reducer, and Nikon D5100.

Yes, it looks about the same image scale as you would expect from a Nikon D1. It fits - just.
