All season I've been hanging out for some really good seeing to put this camera and scope to the test on Mars but have not managed to be capturing under such conditions. So here's another Mars from the 28th of October, I think I'm running out of time to snare that perfect night so I hope my eyes last another 15 years to try it again. This was captured during quite a bit of turbulence but transparency was good enough to salvage a respectable result.
ZWOASI120MMs with Meade LRGB filters through an 8 inch Newtonian and a 5x Powermate. The RA motor on the EQ5 was jumping around a bit so I was toggling with the hand controller to keep the planet in the frame. Good old Pipp to the rescue, does a great job to stabilize the image to correct these issues.
