I was able to get some single stack data on AR2778 juts prior to the morning cloud rolling in. I didn't do double stack today as I wanted to try and bring out those black spots. By the time I get to see Sol again will be middle of next week if clouds allow and AR2778 will be a memory. Bring on the next one!
Great close up Peter. What FL are you imaging at? I'd assume you need to do flats for solar imaging correct?
Hi Marc and thanks for looking. I am using a Lunt LS60THa that is native F8.3. With the 2.5X Powermate am now at 1250mm F/L F20.8
I had wondered about needing flats as I have read that they can make for improvement but have not bothered at this stage, though I am noticing some uneven illumination across the disc. May well try this in coming weeks.

Yes I suspect they are there as well, so will need to do some youtube research on Solar flats... apparently the opaque plastic fruit n vege bags from the rolls in Coles make the right cover!

When using the H alpha etalons, there’s no “filter” involved.
Any dust donuts are usually are associated with the cover glass on the camera.
Preparing “plastic bag” flats are far more successful when you image surface images, full disk are problematic.
Loving all the solar images from the past few days, especially while it has been cloudy here.
The sun has come out to play today, at last, so hope to get some images shortly.
