Hi all,
The
Blue Mountains Astronomical Club, Inc., is holding a commemorative celebration to commemorate the Apollo 11 Moon landing and Australia's role in the mission at Echo Point, Katoomba, this coming Saturday the 13th of July.
Very special permission was granted by the Traditional Owners and the Blue Mountains City Council to be able to conduct this celebration at Echo Point.
We will be setting up a number of telescopes from 4pm to 9pm, focusing on the Moon and planets from this location.
Professor Ray Norris &
Mr Robert Brand are special guests who will join us to share in their experiences of Apollo 11, the part Australia played in it, and subsequent research that has come from it.
We will be joined by Aunty Sharyn Halls, an Gundungurra Elder, and a couple of Blue Mountains Council members.
